CAREER STATEMENT
I completed Master of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) from Flinders University. This consisted of successful completion of two clinical practicums, first at IAPT in Flinders Psychological Therapy Services (FPTS) and second at Centre for Anxiety and Related Disorders (CARD). In these placements, I worked with people who had moderate to severe mental health conditions (depression, OCD, PTSD, GAD, phobia, social anxiety, panic disorder, health anxiety etc.) Both my coursework and placement helped me to learn specific CBT interventions and enhanced my clinical skills to be competent in working with a range of complex conditions.
Since my undergraduate studies and during my previous clinical experiences, I have always worked on my interviewing skills, which increased my confidence and enriched my therapeutic skills. I have successfully completed over 300 clinical assessments for people with substance use and addiction issues and have worked in a private clinic as a Counsellor. I have been recognised as a warm, empathetic person and my enthusiasm helps me work effectively with complex cases on time, while also maintaining standard ethical practice.

EMPLOYMENT
• September 2024- CURRENT, Counsellor- Mental Health Commission- providing crisis care and counselling for people with addiction and mental health issues including their family members. Referring people to appropriate services such as for DV, homelessness, mental health services for different age groups, hospitals, detox, rehabs etc.
• November 2023- February 2024, Counsellor in Blyss Mutispeciality Therapy Centre- provided individual counselling sessions for adolescents and adults with different mental health conditions.
• August 2020 - February 2021, Visiting Counsellor in EVE Clinic, providing individual counselling sessions for different types of clients.
• June 2018 – Jan 2023, Counsellor (Ms-2) in Assessment Services Section, in National Drug Agency. Main responsibilities include doing Indicative Assessment and Drug Dependency test for clients with Substance Use and preparing individualized treatment plan for clients.
• November 2017 - June 2018, Counsellor (Ms-1) in Prevention Section, in National Drug Agency. Main responsibilities were conducting awareness programs and workshops on Psychoeducation, Drug Education and Treatment of Substance Use Disorder, to different target groups.
• November 2017 – April 2020, Part time lecturer at Avid College. Giving lectures on various subjects, preparing exam papers, tutorials and working as a supervisor to provide guidance to students with their research.
