Davidson Management Consultants have been mandated to recruit a Consultant Psychiatrist – Addiction Medicine for their client in Abu Dhabi, UAE which is a leading addiction rehabilitation hospital delivering comprehensive medical, psychosocial, and multidisciplinary care for substance use disorders and co-morbid psychiatric conditions.We are looking for Tier 1 or Tier 2 trained Consultant Psychiatrists in Addiction Medicine. Candidates must hold a medical degree, completed specialist training in Psychiatry, and formal specialist/sub-specialist qualifications / hold internationally recognized postgraduate qualifications (e.g., board certification or Fellowship in Psychiatry/Addiction Medicine from ABMS (USA), CCT/CCST (UK), RCPSC (Canada), FRANZCP (Australia & New Zealand) or equivalent) with documented clinical experience. Tier 2 candidates with equivalent postgraduate credentials and relevant addiction medicine expertise will also be considered.The Consultant Psychiatrist – Addiction Medicine will be responsible for clinical leadership in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based management of addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders. Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, risk assessment, formulation and therapeutic planning for patients with substance dependence, behavioral addictions, dual diagnoses, and complex psychopathology. Prescribe and manage psychotropic medication regimes, monitor treatment response, and adjust plans to optimize safety and clinical outcomes.Lead and participate in multidisciplinary case reviews, treatment planning meetings, and clinical governance forums. Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, nursing teams, therapists, social workers, and allied health professionals to deliver integrated care pathways. Provide specialist consultation for detoxification, stabilization, relapse prevention planning, and continuity of care across inpatient and outpatient treatment services.Contribute to the development, implementation, and audit of clinical policies, standard operating procedures, and evidence-based care protocols specific to addiction psychiatry and rehabilitation medicine. Mentor and supervise junior clinicians, trainees, and allied staff. Engage in quality improvement initiatives, morbidity and mortality reviews, and compliance activities aligned with Department of Health (DoH) and DHA regulatory standards.Deliver patient- and family-centered education, therapeutic interventions, and psychoeducation with cultural sensitivity and in compliance with ethical and legal frameworks. Maintain timely and accurate medical documentation, diagnostic coding, and patient records in accordance with facility and regulatory requirements.
Salary : Aed 80,000 per month plus family benefits (Salary mentioned in the advertisement is indicative. The final offer lies at the discretion of the client and will be made after completion of interviews).
