A Multi-Welder is a skilled tradesperson capable of performing various types of welding processes (e.g., SMAW, GTAW, MIG, TIG, FCAW) on different materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloys. They are responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal components according to welding codes, safety standards, and engineering drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform various welding processes such as:
SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding)
GTAW (TIG – Gas Tungsten Arc Welding)
GMAW (MIG – Gas Metal Arc Welding)
FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding)
Read and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, and WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications).
Set up and operate welding machines and tools for different welding tasks.
Fabricate and assemble metal components with precision and quality.
Carry out welding repairs and modifications as required on-site or in the workshop.
Ensure weld quality through visual inspection and by following welding standards (ASME, AWS, ISO, etc.).
Cooperate with QA/QC inspectors during welding inspection and testing (e.g., NDT).
Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
Maintain welding equipment and keep work area clean and organized.
Work independently or as part of a team under supervision.
