Job Title:
Principal HSE Design Engineer
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Engineering, Mechanical/Industrial/Civil Engineering, or related field
Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in HSE design and engineering
Proven experience leading HSE design compliance for large infrastructure, oil & gas, construction, or industrial projects
Professional certifications (NEBOSH/IOSH/OSHA) preferred
Responsibilities:
Lead the design and integration of HSE requirements into engineering and construction projects
Develop, review, and approve HSE design deliverables, standards, and specifications
Conduct safety risk assessments, hazard analyses (HAZID/HAZOP), and mitigation planning
Coordinate with project teams (design, engineering, operations, and construction) to ensure HSE compliance
Provide expert guidance on regulatory and industry HSE standards
Drive continuous improvement in HSE design practices and lessons learned
Mentor and coach HSE and engineering team members
Requirements:
Strong technical knowledge of safety engineering principles, risk assessment methodologies, and regulatory standards
Experience applying HSE design in multi disciplinary environments
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to manage complex technical issues and influence design decisions
Proficient in HSE tools, software, and documentation
