Irrigation Engineer
Job Location : Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
Responsibilities :
• Assist in designing irrigation systems (drip, sprinkler, mainlines, laterals, valves, pumps).
• Prepare and update irrigation shop drawings and as-built drawings.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure works follow drawings, specs, and standards.
• Monitor installation of pipes, fittings, valves, chambers, and irrigation equipment.
• Perform basic hydraulic checks (flow, pressure, pipe sizing) and support in pump/equipment selection.
• Prepare quantity take-offs and assist in BOQs and cost estimates for irrigation works.
• Review irrigation-related material submittals and coordinate with suppliers.
• Coordinate with landscape, civil, and MEP teams to resolve design and site clashes.
• Assist in testing and commissioning of irrigation systems (flushing, pressure tests, system tuning).
• Report site issues (leaks, blockages, low pressure) and support in implementing corrective actions.
Requirements :
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering / Agricultural Engineering / Irrigation Engineering or similar.
• Around 3 years of experience in irrigation design and/or site supervision.
• Good knowledge of irrigation systems (drip, sprinkler, valves, controllers, filters, pumps).
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
• Basic skills in AutoCAD (and preferably any irrigation/landscape design software).
• Familiar with hydraulic concepts (flow rate, pressure, pipe sizing).
• Understanding of relevant standards and authority requirements (as applicable to country).
• Good communication and coordination skills with site teams, consultants, and contractors.
• Ability to work on-site, conduct inspections, and prepare technical reports.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn and take responsibility.
