We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Piping Inspector to ensure the quality and safety of piping systems in construction or industrial projects. The candidate will inspect piping materials, welds, and installation processes to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect piping systems, components, and welds for compliance with project specifications and applicable codes (e.g., ASME, API, ANSI).
Review and verify inspection and test plans (ITPs), welding procedures (WPS), and procedure qualification records (PQR).
Conduct visual inspections and coordinate with Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) teams for tests such as radiographic (RT), ultrasonic (UT), magnetic particle (MT), and dye penetrant (PT) testing.
Ensure materials received on-site match specifications and certifications.
Monitor and document welding activities, pipe supports, fittings, and alignment.
Report and document non-conformities, deviations, and defects, recommending corrective actions.
Coordinate with quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) teams, contractors, and clients.
Maintain detailed records and inspection reports, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on site.
Participate in project meetings and provide technical input related to piping quality and inspection.
Qualifications:
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
3–7 years of experience in piping inspection or quality control.
Relevant certifications such as CSWIP 3.1/3.2, API 570, or equivalent.
Strong knowledge of piping codes and standards (ASME B31.3, API, ANSI).
Familiarity with welding processes and NDT methods.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, welding procedures, and specifications.
Strong attention to detail and good report-writing skills.
Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
