The General Practitioner (GP) in the Emergency Department provides immediate, high-quality medical care to patients presenting with acute illnesses or injuries. This role requires rapid assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and referral to specialists or hospital admission when necessary. The GP ensures patient safety and effective management within the emergency setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct initial assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients in the emergency department.
Manage a wide range of acute medical conditions, minor injuries, and urgent health issues.
Stabilize critically ill or injured patients and initiate emergency interventions.
Prescribe medications, order diagnostic tests, and interpret results promptly.
Collaborate with specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals for comprehensive care.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with medical standards.
Educate patients and families on treatment plans, preventive care, and follow-up requirements.
Participate in emergency drills, training, and continuous professional development.
Ensure adherence to hospital policies, clinical guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with valid medical license.
