The Fire Alarm Technician is responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of fire detection and alarm systems within Oil & Gas facilities. The role ensures all systems operate effectively and comply with applicable safety standards, project specifications, and international fire protection codes.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation & Maintenance
Install, inspect, and maintain fire alarm systems including control panels, detectors, manual call points, sounders, and interfaces.
Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of addressable and conventional fire alarm systems.
Testing & Commissioning:
Test all components to ensure functionality, proper signal flow, and integration with other safety systems (e.g., firefighting systems, HVAC, BMS, access control).
Troubleshooting & Repairs:
Diagnose faults, perform repairs, and ensure minimal system downtime.
Replace defective components and recalibrate sensors as needed.
Ensure proper documentation of all service and maintenance activities
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: Diploma or Technical Certificate in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation / Fire & Safety or related field.
Experience: Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Fire Alarm Systems, preferably in Oil & Gas or industrial environments.
