The Sonographer is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations to assist physicians in diagnosing and monitoring a variety of medical conditions. This role involves operating ultrasound equipment, capturing clear images of internal body structures, and ensuring patient safety and comfort during procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform ultrasound scans on patients as requested by physicians

Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal performance

Prepare patients for procedures and explain the imaging process clearly
Capture high-quality images of internal organs, tissues, and blood flow
Evaluate the quality of images and ensure they meet diagnostic standards
Document findings and assist radiologists or doctors in reviewing results
Maintain accurate patient records and follow hospital/clinic protocols
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, including infection control
Monitor equipment for functionality and arrange servicing when necessary
Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients during procedures

Qualifications & Experience:

Diploma or Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Ultrasound Technology
Valid certification or licensure (e.g., ARDMS, DMS, or national equivalent)
Proficiency in general, obstetric, abdominal, and/or vascular ultrasound (as applicable)
Strong understanding of human anatomy and medical terminology
