The Special Education Needs Teacher is responsible for supporting students with diverse learning needs by developing and implementing tailored educational programs. This role involves assessing students’ abilities, adapting teaching methods, collaborating with parents and professionals, and fostering an inclusive learning environment to help students achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess and identify students’ special educational needs through observation and evaluation
Develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s strengths and challenges
Adapt and deliver curriculum content using differentiated teaching methods
Provide one-on-one or small group instruction to support learning objectives
Monitor and document students’ progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and other professionals to coordinate support
Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and needs
Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
Attend training and professional development sessions to stay updated on SEN best practices
Ensure compliance with legal and school policies related to special education
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or related field
Teaching certification with specialization in Special Education preferred
Experience working with children with special needs in an educational setting
Knowledge of various disabilities and learning difficulties
Strong understanding of SEN teaching strategies and behavioral management
