The Procurement Engineer is responsible for managing the sourcing, purchasing, and timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services required for engineering projects. This role involves evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, and working closely with project and engineering teams to support project execution and cost control.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and reliability
Prepare and issue purchase requests, purchase orders, and contracts
Review and ensure compliance with technical specifications and project requirements
Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with vendors and suppliers
Coordinate with engineering, project management, and quality teams for material specifications and approvals
Monitor supplier performance and manage vendor relationships
Ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any supply chain issues
Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation
Assist in cost estimation, budgeting, and forecasting procurement needs
Support inventory management and coordinate with stores/warehouse teams
Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field
Proven experience in procurement, preferably in engineering or construction industries
Strong knowledge of sourcing and procurement processes
Familiarity with technical specifications and engineering documentation
Excellent negotiation and communication skills
Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office applications
