The Procurement Officer is responsible for sourcing goods and services, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring that procurement activities align with organizational standards and budget requirements. They play a key role in managing supplier relationships, evaluating market conditions, and ensuring timely procurement to support operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify potential suppliers and conduct market research to evaluate their capabilities.
Prepare and issue purchase orders, RFQs, and RFPs to suppliers.
Negotiate prices, terms, and contracts with vendors to secure the best value.
Review and verify purchase requisitions and ensure compliance with company policies.
Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong supplier relationships.
Manage procurement documentation and maintain accurate records of transactions.
Ensure timely delivery of goods and services and resolve any issues related to procurement.
Collaborate with other departments to understand procurement needs.
Stay updated on market trends, pricing, and new sourcing opportunities.
Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory standards related to procurement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or related field.
Proven experience in procurement or purchasing roles.
Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of procurement software and ERP systems.
Ability to analyze market data and evaluate suppliers.
