Job Summary:
The Senior Patient Financial Services Advisor coordinates complex eligibility and coverage issues, providing direct assistance to patients regarding their financial responsibilities and insurance coverage. This role involves explaining charges, payment expectations, and patient copayments, managing front-line cash and tax invoicing, processing payments and refunds, and guiding patients through available payment options and installment plans to ensure satisfaction and efficient financial services.
Strategic Roles & Responsibilities (5%)
Implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
Collaborate with legal and regulatory teams to address potential issues.
Provide support to patients regarding their financial responsibilities and insurance coverage.
Operational Roles & Responsibilities (95%)
Confirm insurance coverage and eligibility for complex cases to ensure accurate billing and clear communication of financial responsibilities.
Assist patients in understanding their benefits, resolving coverage discrepancies, and working with insurance companies to rectify issues.
Help patients understand charges, payment expectations, co-payments, and process payment plans, discounts, or financial assistance.
Resolve straightforward issues and escalate complex cases as necessary to appropriate teams.
Minimum Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
Professional Certifications:
None required.
Years of Experience:
Minimum 6 years in Healthcare Financial Services.
