Accountabilities:
1. Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) input and advice (mechanical, naval, structural, electrical) to the Offshore repair services and new build products. This includes product engineering the process of designing and developing devices, assembly, or systems through the production manufacturing process.
2. Ensuring that both early-stage estimation and production/ installation stages are resolved on issues of cost, producibility, quality, performance, reliability, serviceability, intended lifespan and user features.
3. Apply Project Management techniques to manage the design and development progress in the product development process with intent of designing products in such a way that they are easy to manufacture.
4. Manages respectively the hull/structure, Architectural Outfit, electrical and piping/mechanical functions of the Offshore Engineering Office.
5. Support in translating annual workforce and work strategies into action plans to meet the operational requirements.
6. Monitor performance against targets and deliverables for all services including performance of own team and subcontracting partners.
7. Cascade and feedback communication to provide clarity to business direction in relation to people and/or priorities to mitigate uncertainty.
8. Contribute with timely updates and inputs such as lead and lag indication data to inform stakeholders to support internal decision making and performance review processes.
9. Model a collaborative and cross-organizational relationship within and between business and support functions to ensure alignment to desired high-performance culture.
10. Apply skills, knowledge and ability to ensure people and resources enable production throughput rate to be safely achievable in line with Section Plan and KPIs in line with Qatar Shipyard Technology Solutions Values and IMS system.
11. Monitors Section Performance Indicators defined in the Qatar Shipyard Technology Solutions Quality Policy and Objectives Matrix.
12. Engage and develop all personnel through initiating clear directives, driving continual improvement efforts and leading change management.
13. Develop key performance indicators to be used for feedback to the team, to address performance issues, make changes and monitor performance improvements.
14. Manage, monitor and align resource and cost allocation in compliance with budget requirements and work plan.
15. Drive a safety culture within the team through role modelling safety values and behaviors.
16. Ensure compliance with health, safety, security and environment standards.
17. Drive high quality standards in the department to ensure all employees compliance to deliver high quality services and products and achieve customer satisfaction.
18. Conducts section reviews to requirements defined in the Qatar Shipyard Technology Solutions.

Purpose: Communicate and coordinate work specifications and deliverables.
Qualifications, Experience and Job Skills
Qualifications:
Degree or Diploma in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Certificate of Competency (Marine Engineer Officer) Class 1 (Motor ship), or its equivalent.
Candidates without a degree but have undergone a traineeship in the marine industry and have extensive supervisory experience in a similar field will also be considered.
Experience:
10 years of related experience of which a minimum of 5 years in a senior or managerial position.
Experience in assisting in the management of execution and delivery of work within project engineering disciplines.
