The GIS Technician will be responsible for managing and analyzing geographic information systems (GIS) data related to landscape and civil engineering projects. This role involves creating maps, conducting spatial analyses, and supporting project teams with geospatial data to enhance decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collect, manage, and analyze spatial data using GIS software and tools.
• Create detailed maps and visualizations to support landscape and civil engineering projects.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand project requirements and provide relevant geospatial analysis.
• Perform data entry and maintenance of GIS databases, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
• Conduct spatial analyses to identify patterns, trends, and relationships within geographic data.
• Assist in the preparation of technical reports and presentations that incorporate GIS data.
• Stay updated on advancements in GIS technology and best practices relevant to landscape and civil engineering.
• Provide training and support to project team members on GIS tools and applications.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• 8 years of experience working with GIS technology, preferably in landscape or civil projects.
• Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and related tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of landscape and civil engineering principles is a plus.
