Job Description:

The University of Dubai is seeking for a highly motivated Research Assistant with expertise in Machine Learning (ML) to join our interdisciplinary research team starting March 2025. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of advanced ML and DL models for medical signals and imaging, focusing on multi-level classification and feature optimization.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and evaluate machine and deep learning algorithms for medical applications.
• Perform data pre-processing, feature selection, and dimensionality reduction using medical, and clinical datasets.
• Collaborate with the team to compare existing methods and propose innovative solutions for improving accuracy.
• Assist in deploying ML models into an assistive technology platform with user-friendly interfaces.
• Document research progress, methodologies, and findings in technical reports and academic publications.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, specializing in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
• Strong programming skills in MATLAB, Python, or R, with experience in ML libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
• Proven knowledge of classification algorithms, neural networks, and model optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with healthcare data, including clinical and behavioral data, is a plus. Similarly, experience in image and signal processing is also desirable.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
