1. BASIC FUNCTIONS & SCOPE:
An Elevator Quality Controller is responsible for ensuring the safety, functionality, and compliance of elevators and escalators. Their role involves inspecting, testing, and certifying elevators to ensure they meet industry standards and regulations.
2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
2.1. Inspection and Testing:
Conduct regular inspections of elevators, escalators, and related equipment with NIT stagewise inspection formats.
Test functionality, safety mechanisms, and operational efficiency.
Identify defects, malfunctions, or areas requiring improvement.
2.2. Compliance and Standards:
Ensure all elevators comply with local, national, and international safety regulations (e.g., EN 81, ASME A17.1).
Stay updated on changes to codes and standards.
2.3. Documentation:
Prepare detailed inspection reports, including findings, recommendations, and compliance status.
Maintain records of inspections, certifications, and maintenance schedules.
2.4. Collaboration:
Work with installation and maintenance teams, technicians, and manufacturers to address and resolve quality issues.
Provide guidance and training to maintenance teams on quality standards.
2.5. Auditing:
Conduct quality audits for new installations and repairs.
Evaluate workmanship and adherence to specifications.
2.6. Safety Oversight:
Verify the proper functioning of emergency systems such as brakes, alarms, and communication devices.
Ensure safety signage and operational instructions are properly displayed.

5. MINIMUM REQUIREMENT
Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
Certification in Elevator Technology or Quality Control (e.g., QEI - Qualified Elevator Inspector certification) is a plus.
Strong knowledge of safety and quality standards for elevators and escalators.
Proficiency in diagnostic tools and equipment.
Minimum of 2 to 3 Years of experience in Administration coordination field.
