We are seeking to recruit on behalf of our client an ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING MANAGER (SYSTEMS STUDIES) who will work remotely (i.e., from your residence) on our client’s MENA region operations projects (possible to transfer to US or Canada after 5 years or once any opening becomes available, this will be a long-term contract
Responsible For:
• Building static and dynamic power system models including new technologies such as inverters, wind turbines, or storage systems which may require interaction with equipment vendors to define the models.
• Performing distribution/transmission import/export analyses (aka VAR/Watt injection studies), generator (rotating machinery or static inverters) capability studies, model quality tests/ benchmarking, and site selection support.
• Frequency domain (i.e. ETAP) and time domain (i.e., EMTP/PSCAD) transient/steady-state study and analysis to perform load flow, short circuit, cable ampacity, TRV, RRRV, TOV, insulation coordination, harmonics, flicker, and arc flash studies.
• Assist in the submission of generation and load interconnection applications to ISOs (i.e., ERCOT).
• Knowledge of grounding study (Substation, distribution) is considered as an asset.
• Knowledge of EMC/EMI study is considered an asset.
• Making sure to complete assigned projects on time while adhering to project quality and budget objectives.
• Identify training needs and present them to the supervisor.
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration.
Experience/Qualifications Required:
• Bachelor of Science or Electrical Engineering with power system emphasis. (Master of Science or higher preferred)
• At least 10+ years of relevant working experience
• Proven team player skills with the ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, particularly concerning explaining technical matters.
