We are seeking to recruit on behalf of our client an ELECTRICAL DESIGN MANAGER (POWER ENGINEERING) who will work remotely (i.e., from your residence) on our client’s MENA region operations projects (possible to transfer to US or Canada after 5 years or once any opening becomes available, this will be a long-term contract
Purpose:
• Directly engage with clients to identify new work, prepare proposals, establish project objectives, formulate project approaches, and oversee a team of junior consultants/engineers to meet the project objectives and provide the client with useful and actionable deliverables.
• Oversee the development and design of energy projects.
• The main goal of this role is to maximize efficiency in implementing project plans and keeping track of goals, tasks, resources, schedules, costs, and contingencies.
• On the technical side, you will conduct design and modelling and support the development of generation, load, and energy storage projects.
• Contribute to the owner’s engineering and systems design studies.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the design of solar PV and BESS systems, ensuring successful outcomes and client satisfaction
• Perform solar energy modelling and simulation, using specialized software and tools to optimize system performance and energy yield
• Identify and mitigate risks and issues that may impact project success
• Evaluate the technical and financial feasibility of solar and BESS projects, considering factors such as site conditions, equipment specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil and structural engineers, to ensure the successful integration of PV and BESS systems.
• Conducting site investigations and feasibility studies
• Provide quality control and project review for solar and BESS engineering deliverables
• Support steady-state, dynamic, and transient studies for energy projects.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and customers to ensure project goals are aligned and communicated.
• Building static and dynamic power system models, including new technologies like inverters, wind turbines, or storage systems, may require interaction with equipment vendors to determine the appropriate parameters.
Experience/Qualifications Required
• Bachelor of Science or Electrical Engineering with power system emphasis. (Master/Ph.D. is a plus). Emphasis on Power Systems is a strong preference.
• 10+ years of relevant experience working as a Power Systems Engineer with prior project design and system studies experience.
• Proven team player skills with the ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.
