Responsibilities:
Diagnosing problems: Using computerized diagnostic equipment and other tools to identify issues with a vehicle's engine, transmission, electrical system, steering, suspension, braking, or HVAC system
Performing repairs: Replacing or repairing worn parts, such as brake pads, wheel bearings, and sensors
Performing maintenance: Changing oil, checking fluid levels, and rotating tires
Testing: Road testing vehicles to confirm that repairs have been successful
Providing estimates: Giving customers an estimate of the labor and time required to complete repairs
Communicating: Explaining automotive problems and repairs to clients
Documenting: Updating vehicle log books and providing paperwork to customers
